Dall sheep country speaks to your soul, the adventure will stick with you forever. Our Dall Sheep hunts hunts take place in the heart of Alaska’s interior. The elusive sheep are unique and isolated in central Alaska. The forest dwelling “Spruce Ram” has secrets, together we unlock them. Currently we only offer two sheep hunts per year, this ensures healthy populations with a conservative management approach. The first hunts begins August 10-24th, The second hunt begins August 24th-September 4th. This backpack style hunt begins with a bush flight into a remote river base camp followed by a river float to scouted areas. At camp we shoot and check rifle accuracy, and repack gear. Base camp consists of a wall tent kitchen, Arctic Ovens, and 6-8 Man dome tents for sleeping arrangements. From our base camp we move into high elevation spike camps which consist of Hilleberg and Kuiu Tents. We then move through the mountains looking for sheep, wolves, and black bears. The creeks and streams have excellent grayling, whitefish, and pike fishing. At the conclusion of the hunt you will be shuttled to Fairbanks Alaska to take care of meat and trophies and catch a commercial flight home. Sheep hunting is a physically demanding, the more work and training you put in for the hunt will only make the adventure more pleasing. You will be carrying a 50-70lbs pack up and down 4000ft mountains daily. A packer is normally provided as part of the hunt cost. We can discuss an additional packer to help accommodate. We only take two sheep hunters each year to ensure an older age class of rams and a healthy population of sheep.
