Guided Hunts

Sheep Hunt

Dall sheep country speaks to your soul, the adventure will stick with you forever. Our Dall Sheep hunts hunts take place in the heart of Alaska’s interior. The elusive sheep are unique and isolated in central Alaska. The forest dwelling “Spruce Ram” has secrets, together we unlock them. Currently we only offer two sheep hunts per year, this ensures healthy populations with a conservative management approach. The first hunts begins August 10-24th, The second hunt begins August 24th-September 4th. This backpack style hunt begins with a bush flight into a remote river base camp followed by a river float to scouted areas. At camp we shoot and check rifle accuracy, and repack gear. Base camp consists of a wall tent kitchen, Arctic Ovens, and 6-8 Man dome tents for sleeping arrangements. From our base camp we move into high elevation spike camps which consist of Hilleberg and Kuiu Tents. We then move through the mountains looking for sheep, wolves, and black bears. The creeks and streams have excellent grayling, whitefish, and pike fishing. At the conclusion of the hunt you will be shuttled to Fairbanks Alaska to take care of meat and trophies and catch a commercial flight home.

We only take two sheep hunters each year to ensure an older age class of rams and a healthy population of sheep.

Sheep hunting is a physically demanding, the more work and training you put in for the hunt will only make the adventure more pleasing. You will be carrying a 50-70lbs pack up and down 4000ft mountains daily. A packer is normally provided as part of the hunt cost. We can discuss an additional packer to help accommodate.

Moose Hunt

Fall in Alaska is incredible, colder weather and changing of leaves coincides with the moose rut. Idling down river in an inflatable jet boat is a joy. We target “openings” in swamps and edges of the river banks filled with willows. Known areas with the right habitat is the key to success, find the cows and we find our bulls. You never know when a rutting bull will come to the call and arrive in base camp. Each day we depart from base camp at first light listening to the calls of the wild, antler scraping, cows moaning, bulls grunting, and antlers clashing. We search for fresh sign such as new tracks on the banks, fresh scrapes and broken branches, moose wallows, and thrashed vegetation. Often you can smell rutting bulls as the morning thermals and wind currents roll up and down the river. Can you smell him? Senses are on high alert, boat is parked, and we patiently wait for a 6ft tall (at the shoulder) bull moose to emerge from the willows. Other tactics are cruising in the boat or on foot into small sloughs and patiently waiting for a call response. We also use tree stands to keep an eye on large pinch points for traveling bulls who maybe coming to the call or simply strutting through. These are proven moose tactics that can be used variously for the different clients we take afield. At the end of the day we will either return to base camp or set up a spike camp pending the activity of the day. Base camp consists of Wall tent kitchen area, Arctic Ovens, and 6-8 Man dome tents for sleeping

This hunt provides high speed internet in camp via starlink, hot tents to dry out, generator to charge electronics, hot home cooked meals, and a nice fire with stories and big laughs. Upon arrival in camp, we finalize necessary paperwork, shoot and check rifle accuracy, and prep your gear for the float and boat hunt. At the conclusion of the hunt you will be shuttled to Fairbanks where you can arrange return commercial flights, take care of meat and trophies, get a hot shower and good nights rest.

Brown & Black Bear Combo Hunt

Email or call for pricing

We have two different style bear hunts for spring/summer and fall. During the spring we travel the rivers to our established bear bait sights. We offer grizzly & black bear combos only, many of our baits have both species. We provide this as a combo hunt only over our baited hunts as means of predator management. The wise and old grizzly bear boars will likely never return to a bait if they come in and smell a hunter. They have much longer memories than black bears and by anecdotal evidence much smarter too. When the opportunity arises, we want to capitalize otherwise these older bears become much more difficult in the future to pursue.

The fall hunts are part of the hunting package for moose, sheep, or caribou. The grizzly tag is provided as part of the package for moose hunters, no trophy fees required. If we see a bear without cubs and meets the legal requirements, we’d like to see the bear tag filled. The bonus grizzly bear locking tag can be used on species of lesser value.
